INVISTA Presents Latest Products at Fakuma

New products for compounded polyamide 66 resins

INVISTA Engineering Polymer Solutions is showcasing its most recent products at Fakuma (Booth 1221, Hall A1). The company will share its latest product offering for compounded polyamide 66 resins requiring long-term heat resistance, such as in automotive and electrical components.

Ben McDaniel, Vice President, INVISTA Engineering Polymer Solutions, explains: “Our patent-pending TORZEN Marathon technology offers OEMs, tiers and molders with a PA66 resin that has improved long-term heat resistance over conventional polyamide 66—-while also delivering the same balance of toughness, wear resistance and chemical resistance for which polyamide 66 is known. It also provides our customers with a new solution for part design and integration.”

TORZEN Marathon compounded polymers can perform in applications with exposure to high temperatures. TORZEN Marathon resins have at least 50 percent tensile strength retention during continuous use temperatures at 190°C for 3,000 hours, and have at least 50 percent tensile strength retention at 230°C during shorter time periods (less than 1,000 hours). The material also has a lower melt viscosity compared with conventional polyamide 66 and its flowability offers flexibility in part design. TORZEN Marathon is also hydrolysis resistant.

Additionally, the company’s TORZEN Marathon flame retardant grade has earned UL94 V-0 certification for its FRU4800XHL non-halogenated unfilled product, achieving best-in-class RTI ratings. The product is available globally for sampling and meeting customer needs.

Claudio Degiorgi, Director, INVISTA Engineering Polymer Solutions, Europe states, “We are excited to be at Fakuma and have the opportunity to share our innovative offerings with current and potential customers, and to discuss how we can innovate for the future together. We look forward to the many conversations and ideation from this year’s Fakuma show.”
